Music Educator Side-by-Side
with Thomas Søndergård and the Minnesota Orchestra
We're looking for K-12 music educators who are interested in joining the Minnesota Orchestra for a unique Side-by-Side experience in April 2024. The opportunity: you and your fellow music educators will work with Music Director Thomas Søndergård in two rehearsals and two performances at Orchestra Hall, where you'll play alongside Minnesota Orchestra musicians in Holst's “Jupiter” from The Planets. Together we'll make music for an audience of your friends, family, students, and school administrators and we'll celebrate you and the important mission of music educators across our state.

Who is eligible
K-12 Music educators who play string, woodwind, brass or percussion instruments. Preference will go to educators in Minnesota schools. Please note that the number of participants is subject to physical space limitations and instrumentation needs.
Instrumentation: flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, trombones, tubas, timpani, percussion, harp, strings

Rehearsals
- Thursday, April 25, 6-8:30pm
Following rehearsal, you are invited to a reception with Minnesota Orchestra musicians and Thomas Søndergård - Saturday, April 27, 10am-12:30pm
Educators will not be called for the entire rehearsal time for both rehearsals.
Performances
Saturday, April 27, 7pm
Sunday, April 28, 2pm
Participants must be available to attend all rehearsals and performances.
Cost
This program is free! If selected, you will send in a $25 deposit to hold your place. This will be returned to you at the first rehearsal.
